Studying Dance Education at Weber State

Weber State’s dance education major prepares you to further your education in dance and teach in a public school setting with secondary education certification and a K-6 endorsement.

Dance Education Highlights

Weber State’s dance education major offers individualized attention from faculty with professional dance backgrounds and a variety of styles, along with the opportunity to co-produce your own concert.

You also will have the chance to learn from visiting artists from around the country.

Beyond the Classroom

As a Weber State dance education major, you can travel to dance conferences, festivals and workshops, as well as gain practical experience in a variety of teaching settings.

Dance students also have the opportunity to learn performance production skills and get hands-on experience working backstage.

What You’ll LEARN at Weber

You’ll integrate creativity, scholarship, performance and pedagogy to prepare you for a career in dance education.

You’ll also study a breadth of concepts that will help you achieve a practical understanding of dance as it relates to human development in many educational environments.

What You CAN DO After Weber

Pursue careers in education or arts administration, or teach dance at an elementary or secondary school, as a private instructor. You can also become a dance therapist.
