Studying Zoology at Weber State
Weber State’s zoology degree prepares students who are interested in the study of animals (including humans) for science careers and/or veterinary, medical or dental school.
Zoology Highlights
While completing your zoology degree, you can prepare for graduate programs through one of Weber State’s pre-professional programs, such as:
- Pre-Veterinary Medicine
- Pre-Medical
- Pre-Dentistry
You also have the option to train prepare for ecologically or environmentally oriented careers through the Ecological/Environmental Training program.
The zoology faculty includes three Brady Presidential Distinguished Professor awardees, along with winners of the Nye-Cortez Professor of the Year Award and 91¶ÌÊÓƵ College of Science Spence L. Seager Distinguished Teaching Award.
Beyond the Classroom
As a zoology major, you can gain practical experience through internship opportunities, conducting undergraduate research or becoming a student lab instructor.
You can also meet fellow students, network with professionals and find volunteer opportunities through student clubs, including the Zoology Club and Pre-Vet Club.
