Administering Exams in the Testing Center

In order for the Testing Center to proctor your exams through Canvas, these steps need to be completed to make the exam available and inform the Testing Center of the parameters for your exam. The Testing staff does not have access to your Canvas Quizzes. Exams cannot be proctored in a testing center if these steps are not completed. 

Steps To Administer Exams in the Testing Center

  1. Create your quiz in Canvas. Classic Quizzes are recommended for testing center exams.
  2. Ensure the quiz requires an access code, has Available From and Available Until dates, and is published. 
  3.  or through the "Help" icon in your Canvas Navigation menu.
  4. Click on the course you want to populate.
  5. Under that course, select the quiz you would like to edit.
  6. Fill out instructions to students and to proctoring staff. Select the testing aids you want to authorize. Testing Center staff will strictly follow these literal instructions.
  7. Remember to “Save” your work.

Now the Testing Center is ready to administer your exam!
