Permanence of Earth: Contemporary Ceramic Sculpture

The Mary Elizabeth Dee Shaw Gallery at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ presents Permanence of Earth: Contemporary Ceramic Sculpture, showcasing the work of ten American artists. This exhibition aligns with the 59th annual National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) conference, themed Formation, which explores the historical and cultural significance of ceramics.
Generous support for this exhibition is provided by Weber County RAMP, the Mark E. & Lola G. Austad Endowment, Jack and Bonnie Wahlen, 91¶ÌÊÓƵ's Lindquist College of Arts & Humanities, Ogden City Arts, Weber Student Fees, and the Utah Division of Arts & Museums.

The Weber State Jazz Review is an all-day jazz festival. Local area schools perform and receive a clinic and comments during their day, and the event is capped off by a concert in the evening featuring the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Jazz Ensemble and the festival's guest artist and clinician, Dr. Peter Sommer from Colorado State University.

This multidisciplinary, collaborative performance project explores the climate crisis through movement-based theatre on ice. In addition to contemporary ice skating, this performance will feature environmental (icescape) sound design, music, live original poetry, and dance.

Annual Spanish Spelling Bee and Language Talent Concert

The competition is for students in grades 4th-8th and is hosted by the Department of Foreign Languages and the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Sigma Delta Pi (National Hispanic Honor Society) chapter. Our goals are to promote the Spanish language overall, as well as bilingual education; to broaden the students’ vocabulary, and to improve and advance the skills associated with good spelling habits in Spanish; to heighten the students’ literacy and public speaking skills; to empower elementary and junior high students by providing opportunities to develop and showcase their academic and linguistic skills.

In the spring, Orchesis Dance Theatre invites you to witness Finer Points, a groundbreaking fusion of set design, and movement. This innovative performance blurs the boundaries between the two, seamlessly merging the spontaneity of sketching with the fluidity of dance, creating a truly unique and mesmerizing experience. This performance is bound to be provocative as set designs, lighting designs and thought provoking choreographies take place.
The title itself evokes a sense of creative exploration, hinting at a journey where dance becomes a canvas for detailed sketching choreographies—quick gestures, light strokes, and dynamic lines translated into expressive choreographies that ignite the imagination.
