Accounting is an incredibly varied industry and there is no one “typical” day. An accounting professional’s day depends on whether he/she is working for a large or small firm, what their specialty is (like tax or audit), and what time of month (month-end closing activities) or year it is (tax season: 12 hour days). Individuals may also travel to meet clients or attend conferences. Much of the work is done using computers and technology.
