Management information systems (MIS) is the study of people, technology and organizations. Programming is a very small portion of the job. MIS professionals understand how organizations use information and how to manage that information through systems (technology).

Day to day, professionals balance time working heavily with technology and collaborating with many people. They may travel for training or to work with other sites. Constant learning is key!
