RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

Women at the Top (WATT®) is an organization that seeks to promote the advancement of women in business. Within the financial services industry, annual research has been compiled using publicly available information from the FDIC and bank websites. The study was originally prepared for Financial Women International in 2008 and has included students from the Financial Institutions FIN 3350 courses in the research process.

Since that first study in 2008, each year the top 50 banks based on asset size are reviewed for both upper management positions and additional details on the C-suite positions held by women. The latest annual study results for 2023 91¶ÌÊÓƵ were covered by Newswire via PRWEB with targeted release to State Banking Associations and Independent Community Banking Associations.

  • 2010 student research project results were released in November 2010
  • 2011 study results were released in October of 2011
  • 2012 study was completed by the FIN 3350 Summer/Fall sections and results were published and also served as the basis for a panel discussion presented in virtual format in October 2012
  • 2013 study was used as the basis for several WATT discussions and blog posts
  • 2014 and 2015 results were covered by Newswire via PRWEB with targeted release to State Banking Associations and Independent Community Banking Associations
