In 2008, the Council on Social Work Education implemented a new Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS) statement that shifted from an emphasis on educational outcome objectives to a focus on a set of core competencies. Recognizing the wisdom in this change, and in an effort to be compliant with CSWE accreditation expectations, the Social Work faculty at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ has adopted these core competencies, along with the expected resulting practice behaviors that serve to operationalize the curriculum, as a framework for Program assessment.
Graduates of the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Social Work Program (with the completion of a Bachelor of Arts or Science in Social Work) will demonstrate the ability to:
EP2.1.1: Identify as a professional social worker and conduct oneself accordingly.
Social workers:
- Practice Behavior 2.1.1a: advocate for client access to the services of social work;
- Practice Behavior 2.1.1b: practice personal reflection and self-correction to assure continual professional development;
- Practice Behavior 2.1.1c: attend to professional roles and boundaries;
