Students gain knowledge in contract, hospitality, healthcare, lighting, residential and kitchen and bath design.
Interior Design Highlights
Many courses within the Interior Design program curriculum incorporate service learning opportunities. Faculty and students work with community partners on actual design-build projects to combine curriculum with service throughout the year locally and abroad. Service opportunities vary from conceptual design to hands-on design-build projects to support the community partner mission.
The Program of Interior Design offers the opportunity to explore different parts of the U.S. and the world. Earn college credit while you experience new cultures, admire stunning architecture and find inspiration in some of the world’s greatest cities. Trips are offered each spring, led by the interior design program faculty. During even years, travel within the continental U.S. During odd years, trips are international.
Beyond the Classroom
We offer collaborative design-build team experiences. Each year, interior design students collaborate with Building Design and Construction majors along with Construction Management students from the College of Engineering, Applied Science & Technology for the interdisciplinary charette exercise to solve a design problem in 48 hours.
