As Senior Director of Systems Engineering for Strategic Deterrent Systems Division, Amy leads the Division Systems Engineering team focused on people, processes and tools across the entire Systems Engineering Directorate providing support to the SDS portfolio of programs.
Since joining Northrop Grumman heritage company TRW in 1999, Amy has held positions in engineering, program management, chief systems engineering, director of engineering, and director of programs; all driving innovation in systems engineering and integration, systems development for manufacturing, and technology insertion for multiple industries. Her career spans aerospace, construction, and chemical manufacturing industries. She’s worked on systems that include ICBMs, Aegis, Patriot, Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, Ground-based Midcourse Defense, hypergolic rocket engines, isocyanate and chemical monomers manufacturing, and solid rocket motors. Amy served as director of Propulsion Systems Project and Systems Engineering organization, where she established the Project and Systems Engineering Homeroom, grew systems engineering model-based capabilities, served on technical review boards, and led initiatives to enable model-based methods for engineering integration and the realization of our digital transformation roadmap. Most recently, Amy served as Deputy IPT Lead Systems Engineering and Integration for Sentinel providing technical and programmatic leadership of the IPT to deliver weapon system and segment level architecture, requirements, design, integration, and verification.
Amy served as Propulsion Systems’ executive sponsor for Northern Utah NGWIN chapter, is a mentor for Northrop Grumman’s Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) program and enjoys participating in Society of Women Engineers and Women in Manufacturing professional societies.
Amy holds bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering, master’s degrees in electrochemical engineering and business administration, and is currently completing her Doctor of Philosophy in mechanical and systems engineering from the University of Louisiana.
