Biography
Bryan Olson is Head of Investor Advice Solutions and leads the client facing teams providing wealth management and advice solutions for Schwab Wealth Advisory (SWA), the SWA Wealth Strategies Group (Fixed Income, Financial Planning, and Tax, Trust, & Estate Specialists) and the Wealth Management Services and Operations Group. Investor Advice Solutions advises on and supports more than $170 billion of client assets. Mr. Olson also serves as President of Schwab Wealth Advisory, Inc.
Before his current role, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. (CSIM), the investment adviser to the Schwab Funds, Laudus Funds, Schwab ETFs, and equity and fixed income separate accounts. Prior roles included Head of Investment Analytics, Trading, Operations, and Data supporting CSIM.
Prior to CSIM, Mr. Olson served as Chief Operating Officer for Charles Schwab Investment Advisory, Inc. after the merger with Windhaven Investment Management, Inc. and ThomasPartners, Inc., in similar roles for the predecessor firms and as a member of the Windhaven Strategies Portfolio Management Team. He led the integration of several acquisitions, including Windhaven, Thomas Partners, and Wasmer Schroeder. Earlier in his career, Mr. Olson served as head of the Portfolio Consulting Group for Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. (CS&Co) that provided wealth management guidance to clients in Schwab Private Client, (now Schwab Wealth Advisory). Mr. Olson also led teams in the Schwab Center for Financial Research responsible for conducting wealth management research and training and served on CS&Co’s Investment Strategy Council and Advice Policy Committee. Prior to Schwab, he worked in research, trading, and operations for an independent investment advisory firm.
Mr. Olson earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from 91¶ÌÊÓƵ and served six years in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He is a CFA® charterholder, Certified Financial Planner™, and previously served on the Make a Wish Foundation of America’s Investment Committee and as a board member of the Brookline Food Pantry in Brookline, MA.
