Institutional honors

Honors (overall 91¶ÌÊÓƵ GPA of 3.6 to 3.84) and High Honors (overall 91¶ÌÊÓƵ GPA of 3.85 to 4.0) for Associate's degrees.

Cum Laude (overall 91¶ÌÊÓƵ GPA of 3.6 to 3.79), Magna Cum Laude (overall 91¶ÌÊÓƵ GPA of 3.8 to 3.89), and Summa Cum Laude (overall 91¶ÌÊÓƵ GPA of 3.9 to 4.0) for Bachelor's degrees.

Honors Program

There are three types of honors through the Honors Program: Foundation Honors, University Honors, and Departmental Honors.

Honors credit may be received for courses taken through the Honors Program or for other approved courses. Honors Department courses are noted in the permanent record by the Subject HNRS. Other approved courses are noted in the permanent record by an "H" preceding the course description.

P: Pass

F: Fail

WP: Withdrawal Passing

WF: Withdrawal Failure

Spring Quarter 1970: the Pass/Fail policy was instituted

Spring Quarter 1971: the Credit/No Credit option policy replaced the Pass/Fail policy

Summer Quarter 1972: a grade of CR is equivalent to a letter grade of D or above

Winter Quarter 1995: a grade of CR is equivalent to a letter grade of C- or above

Note: Grade Points were not given for courses taken under any of these options, nor were the credit hours included in the GPA calculations.
