Signing to Support Utah’s Climate
President Brad Mortensen joined more than 120 other Utah leaders to sign Utah’s Climate & Clean Air Compact last fall, committing to address air quality and climate change issues in Utah.
Signatories included leaders of business, government, faith and civic institutions in Utah. The compact calls upon state and community leaders, members of Congress, businesses and all Utahns to adopt the milestones of , which includes guidance to reduce greenhouse emissions, address air quality issues and make advancements in energy production.
In 2007, Weber State committed to become carbon neutral by 2050. The university is on track to be carbon neutral by 2040, 10 years ahead of the initial goal.
