Kerry Case serves as the University of Utah’s Chief Sustainability Officer. In this role, she
provides executive leadership for planning and implementation of institutional sustainability education and engagement efforts. She oversees the Sustainability Office and its work to incorporate sustainability into the academic curriculum and expand learning opportunities for students and employees.
Kerry has been working to improve sustainability in Utah’s higher education institutions for over 20 years. Prior to joining the University of Utah, she was the Assistant Provost for Integrative Learning at Westminster College, where she started and directed their Environmental Center. Before that, she directed Utah State University’s sustainable building demonstration and learning center.
Kerry has taught courses in Urban Agriculture, Sustainability, Environmental Rhetoric, Environmental Humanities, and Green Careers. She has a B.A. in English from the University of Colorado and an M.A. in Environmental Studies and Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the University of Oregon.
