Admission and Selection

91¶ÌÊÓƵ

Admission into the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ BSN to DNP - FNP is highly competitive and selective. 

  • The BSN to DNP - FNP program utilizes an online application process.
  • Be a graduate of a regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) that is accredited by one of the following agencies:
  • Possess a current unencumbered RN license or eligible to obtain licensure without restriction to practice as an RN in Utah (or a compact state).
  • Minimum two (2) years of current RN work experience (by the application deadline). No exceptions. Please wait until the next application cycle please.  
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection

Beginning in 2025 there will be approximately 16 students admitted to begin in a summer cohort (May 2025) and then a 2nd cohort of approximately 16 student (32 total in the year) admitted to begin in the fall (August 2025). This is the plan moving forward in 2025 and beyond.

Applicant ranking includes:

  • GPA: Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher (on a 4.0 scale), ;includes all college-level coursework
  • Vita/Resume
  • Focused essay / Professional Statement
  • Structured Video Response (SVR).
  • Veteran Status
  • Current work experience as an RN (2 years minimum by the application deadline).

  • The Application deadline of April 2, 2025, is for the Fall 2025 start date (August 25, 2025). It is planned that 16 students will be admitted to start the fall semester.
