  • Examining and preparing students for various roles in OHN work, the OHN post-bachelor's curriculum preps nurses for board certification in occupational health nursing.
  • Available online, students will complete the program in 5 courses.
  • The program examines workplace hazards and prevention, risk management, occupational safety, and health programs and promotion.
  • Learn from our experienced instructors who thoroughly understand the industry.

The OHN post-bachelor's certificate will prepare nurses to perform:

  • Nursing basics within the workplace
  • Health promotion
  • Health and safety assessments and management
  • Case management
  • Counseling and crisis management
  • Legal and regulatory compliance
  • Other activities related to managing the health of a workforce

ACHIEVE

  • An OHN works in private companieshospitals, clinics, labor organizations, consulting, academia, government agencies, construction, laboratories, manufacturing, and more.
  • The American Board for Occupational Health Nurses, Inc. (ABOHN) has approved our program to satisfy 2,000 of the 3,000 work-related hours required to apply for the certification exam.
  • OHNs are employable and critically needed nationally.

  • Program Requirements


    To apply to the Post-Bachelor's Certificate in Occupational Health Nursing, you must:

    • Hold a minimum 3.0 GPA
    • Have a current and active RN license
    • Hold a bachelor's degree
  • Step 1: Apply to 91¶ÌÊÓƵ


    This program is jointly offered by 91¶ÌÊÓƵ, the University of Utah, and the and Environmental Health. Enrollment is exclusively through 91¶ÌÊÓƵ.

    91¶ÌÊÓƵ is an open-enrollment university, you can apply anytime by visiting the link above. Don't forget, once a Wildcat always a Wildcat. If you've taken a 91¶ÌÊÓƵ course in the past (including concurrently) please visit Return to Weber for more information.
