Human Resource Management, 2023 91¶ÌÊÓƵ
My Educational Journey
I'm originally from the Washington, D.C. area. I went into government relations, but ended up working my way into a human resources benefits specialist role. I started going to George Mason in pursuit of my degree, then moved to Utah to be with family, transferred to Weber State to finish my degree, and worked part time at Intermountain Healthcare during my education. I knew when I came to 91¶ÌÊÓƵ that I wanted to pursue human resources management.
My Experience
I've had a really good experience at Weber State. I've enjoyed the professors, and the small classes. You get to know people.
Professor Influence
Rachel Child and Rodney Belnap were great; all of my professors were very caring, and you can see that they want to see you succeed. They care that you're learning the material; but more importantly, applying it in your life.
Advice
Find the balance that works for you in your life. We all juggle responsibilities with work and family. I wanted to know that when I came out I had put my best in, which for me meant that I put in a lot of hours studying. I did the work and reached out to professors when I needed help. I find that if you put in the work you will have a hard time not succeeding.
What’s Next?
Going forward, I plan to pursue work in Human Resources.
