Why Weber State?

My name is Toren Jensen and I am excited to be graduating! I always had a feeling that I wanted to attend Weber State, but I wasn't sure exactly what degree I wanted. When the timing was right, my wife and I moved up to Ogden from the Salt Lake area so that I could attend classes full time at Weber.

Why Human Resource Management?

I picked my major because I took a business course that I really enjoyed, and I knew that's what I wanted to do for my career. I saw the degree in HR management and I thought that would be a great fit for me—I love helping people around me achieve their goals and find the support that they need.

Incredible Access

I loved meeting new people and getting to work with them! I loved the groups that I was able to be part of in a lot of my classes. My fellow students really helped make my experience unique and valuable.

Faculty Impact

I took a couple of classes taught by Rod Belnap that had a huge impact on me. He really cared for all of his students, and the lessons I learned in those courses will stay with me for a long time.

Advice

I would definitely recommend the Goddard School to anyone who is considering it! I loved my experience. As far as tips, I would say don't procrastinate homework assignments. Focus on time management and learn how to effectively participate in remote courses.

Career Aspirations

I hope to find a career in human resources so that I can apply the skills that I learned at Weber to my professional development. I want to use my knowledge to help others to reach their goals and dreams.
