Why Master of Taxation?

I enjoy taxes and how challenging it is to understand the tax code. There's no definite answer for anything, you have to research, and that was a great skill I was able to develop.

My Experience

The benefit of the MTax program is that it's tailored for students that don't have a lot of free time. I started the program one month after my son was born, and I was working full time. The class schedule worked for me; it fit very well with my schedule. The professors were amazing, and explained things in a way that we could understand.

Faculty Impact

Each of the MTax faculty had their own specialty. Darcie Costello, Ryan Pace, Eric Smith—they were all great and I learned a lot from all of my professors.

Advice

Be disciplined, but keep balance. Sometimes you need to take care of stressful things in your personal life before you can focus. Rely on your professors and sit up front. Ask questions, don't be afraid.

What’s Next?

I will pursue my CPA license, and will be working as an accountant.
