The @ symbol is a wildcard in CatTracks. In other words, if @ appears with course numbers after it (i.e., @ 1000:4999), it means that you can take a 1000-4000 level course from any subject area. If @ appears after a subject prefix (i.e., ENGL @), it means that you can take any English course. If you have questions about this symbol should work directly with their advisor to determine course selection.

If a student repeats a course, their last attempt counts toward degree requirements. All previous attempts are excluded from their Degree Evaluation. Most courses at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ are not repeatable for credit. Courses that are repeatable also have a maximum amount or times or credits that can count toward requirements or total hours. For those courses the oldest class will be excluded if the maximum has been met. For a transfer and 91¶ÌÊÓƵ repeat policy explanation please refer to the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Policies and Procedures Manual section 4-19 I-F.

Some courses can be taken multiple times for credit. In this case, each enrollment is listed in CatTracks. Review the information in the Canvas courses. In most cases, the classes you took at other institutions were reviewed during the admissions process and placed in the correct place on your CatTracks Degree Evaluation. There may be cases where your degree will automatically fulfill 91¶ÌÊÓƵ degree requirements. The degree completed will show at the top of your Degree Evaluation under Transfer Degree. Questions about transfer courses or degrees should be addressed to your academic advisor.

The Degree Progress Bar will not show 100 percent completion until the student successfully completes in-progress courses. If the student has applied for graduation, met with you for approval, and their status 98 percent, they simply need to complete in-progress courses successfully. However, if students have unmet courses other than those in-progress, CatTracks will show a 97 or 99 percent completion in the status bar. First, review the catalog term appearing on each of the purple bars separating the sections of the Degree Evaluation. The student is using that catalog complete their requirements. If the student is actually using older or newer requirements, you will need to update the student’s catalog information. Once your changes are entered, the correct information will appear on the student’s Degree Evaluation. Review the information in the Canvas courses. To explore other academic options, you can use the What-If resource, which shows an informal degree evaluation using criteria you select. Exceptions are special allowances made by advisor. Exceptions are made for a variety of reasons, including transfer credit or changes to curriculum.

Once approved and processed, the requirement is marked complete. An additional line will appear under the requirement and explain why you entered the exception. If the student has a petition related to a transfer course, you will often make an adjustment to the course equivalency to ensure that it appears in the correct spot on the Degree Evaluation. In those cases, there may not be an explanation related to the change on the Degree Evaluation, but the course will be moved to the correct location.
