Computer Literacy Requirements

To promote success during your time at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ, it is suggested that CL (Computer Literacy) classes be taken within the first year of study.

Lecture, lab, or online classes are available as well as exams (for students who already have excellent computer application skills).

 

The Computer Literacy requirements include three sections

Part A: Document Creation (WEB 1701[class], WEB 1501[exam])
Part B: Content, Internet Identity, and Device Management (WEB 1702[class], WEB 1502[exam])
Part C: Data Manipulation, Visualization, and Presentation (WEB 1703[class], WEB 1503[exam])

 

Computer Literacy Requirement Options

In order to satisfy your Computer Literacy requirements you must choose one of the following options.

Option 1
Sign up for WEB 1700

  • Satisfies part A, B, and C
  • Finish in one semester
  • One class equals three(3) credits

Option 2
Sign up for WEB 1701 along with WEB 1702 and/or WEB 1703 all in one semester or across multiple semesters.

  • Taking all three classes satisfies part A, B, and C
  • Finish in one semester or over multiple semesters
  • Each class counts as one(1) credit

Option 3
Sign up for all three exams (WEB 1501, WEB 1502, WEB 1503) all in one semester or across multiple semesters.

  • Taking all three exams satisfies part A, B, and C
  • Recommended for students who already have excellent computer application skills
  • Students living within 50 miles of the main campus must take the exams on campus. (See online exams info)
  • Finish in one semester or over multiple semesters Each Exam counts as a half(0.5) credit(s)

Option 4
Sign up for a combination of classes and exams all in one semester or across multiple semesters.

  • Taking all three satisfies part A, B, and C
  • Finish in one semester or over multiple semesters
  • Each class counts as one(1) credit and each exam counts as half(0.5) credit
