Step 1: In order to be considered for a private donor scholarship, you must fill out the Specialized Scholarship Application. If you do not apply, you will NOT be eligible for any scholarship possibilities. Students can also apply in their eWeber portal by searching for “Financial Aid and Scholarships."

Step 2: Submit your resume and write a one-page letter of interest including specific future career perspectives (i.e., law enforcement, courts, corrections, etc). If you apply for multiple scholarships, you must write different letters of interest for each scholarship. Describe clearly how you meet the criteria. Scholarships are accepted annually in March and April. You will be notified by email in May if you are selected, and an awards luncheon will be held the following September. Contact Dr. Dennis Lee (heeuklee@weber.edu) with further questions.

This scholarship recipient must:

• Have a declared major in Criminal Justice
• Have a minimum major GPA of 3.0
• Be enrolled full-time (during the semester that you apply and the year that you will receive funds - Fall/Spring)
  • Preference will be given to someone wanting to work in Corrections

This scholarship recipient must:

• Have a declared major in Criminal Justice
• Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
• Be a full-time Junior or Senior
  • Preference made for applicants interested in a law enforcement career

This scholarship recipient must:

• Have a declared major in Criminal Justice
• Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
• Be enrolled full-time (during the semester that you apply and the year that you will receive funds - Fall/Spring)

This scholarship recipient must:

• Have a declared major in Criminal Justice
• Be enrolled full or part-time (during the semester that you apply and the year that you will receive funds - Fall/Spring)
• Preference will be given to someone wanting to work as a law enforcement officer

This scholarship recipient must:

• Have a declared major in the Department of Criminal Justice
• Have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
• Be enrolled as a junior or senior
• Be enrolled full or part-time
  • Preference is given to those students pursuing a career as a law enforcement officer
  • Previous recipients may reapply.

The CJ Department Chair Scholarship, Criminal Justice Alumni Scholarship, and the Social and Behavioral Sciences Dean's Scholarship are all based on academic performance. Recipients are chosen by the CJ Department Chair and the Dean of the College. You will be notified if selected.

Tuition Waviers:

1. Recipients must be attending full-time.
2. Recipients must be a Criminal Justice major.
3. Recipient must be a Utah resident with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and completed 60 credit hours.

The Police Officer's and Firefighter's Survivor Tuition Act
Utah Code 53B-8c-103 provides tuition waivers for eligible children and spouses of Utah peace officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.

Utah's PSOCAR Program reimburses up to half of tuition and fees for certified peace officers, currently employed by a law enforcement agency in Utah, enrolled in criminal justice-related programs at a Utah System of Higher Education institution.
