The Northern Utah Employer Exchange (NUEX) is a premiere event that puts northern Utah business and nonprofit leaders in the same room as 91¶ÌÊÓƵ faculty and administration. The goal? 91¶ÌÊÓƵ wants to understand your organizational goals and issues, then work to develop programs to meet your needs.

Who should attend?

Industry leaders and workforce professionals looking to collaborate on real-world solutions, bridge skills gaps, and strengthen industry-academic partnerships.

 

What NUEX is:

A Bridge Between 91¶ÌÊÓƵ and Industry NUEX was created to strengthen partnerships between 91¶ÌÊÓƵ and various industries, particularly in northern Utah.

Industry-Driven The event was designed for industry leaders to communicate their needs. Weber State is here to listen, understand and support.

A Collaborative Forum NUEX brings Weber State subject matter experts from across campus to engage with industry professionals in a meaningful and impactful way.

A Tool for Strengthening Industry/University RelationshipsNUEX will help position 91¶ÌÊÓƵ as an ally to industry partners across northern Utah, reinforcing the university’s role in workforce development.

What NUEX isn't:

A One-Sided EventThis is not a traditional conference where 91¶ÌÊÓƵ presents information to industry. Instead, the focus is on listening to industry leaders and working together to understand problems and begin to develop solutions. 

Your Typical Academic Event – NUEX is about shaping education to better align with industry needs, fostering collaboration beyond a single event or discussion.

A Passive InitiativeThis is a discovery-oriented event, designed to generate actionable outcomes and partnerships rather than just discussions.

Limited to One Industry or OrganizationNUEX is a cross-industry and university-wide initiative, not confined to any single industry. Every organization will have the opportunity to discover.

A One-Time Event NUEX is built to create ongoing partnership with the goal of fostering continuous collaboration between industry and academia. NUEX is the start of a longer conversation.

9 a.m.-noon – Problem/Solution Breakout Sessions (Two Parts)
     Part 1: Evaluation of Common Industry Problems
     Part II: Prioritizing Real-World Problems & Developing Solutions
Noon-1 p.m. – Lunch and Networking
1-2 p.m. – Interactive Panel Discussions: Session I
2-3 p.m. – Interactive Panel Discussions: Session II
3-4 p.m. – Lightning-Roundup/Closing Remarks
