Information About the Program

The EMT-Basic course at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ is a one-semester course offered fall, spring and summer semesters. During the Fall and Spring semesters, we have both a day and evening option. Our Summer EMT-Basic course is a condensed seven-week option.  

The EMT-Basic course is approximately 150 hours and consists of lecture, lab, and a field internship component with a local EMS agency. Candidates wishing to enroll in the EMT-Basic course at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ should register for both PAR 1000 (lecture) and PAR 1001 (lab). Together, the EMT-Basic courses are 6 credit hours. Currently, there are no prerequisites to enter the EMT-Basic course.

In addition to the course fee, lab fee and textbook fee, students wishing to certify with the National Registry of EMTs and the Utah State Bureau of EMS will be required to pay additional assessment, processing and background check fees. Additional information can be found at the and the .
