Strategic Internships

Our program requires an internship fulfillment for graduation. The Lindquist College of Arts & Humanities has an internship coordinator dedicated to helping film students find local, national and even international internships.  Students from previous cohorts have interned with the Sundance Institute, Utah Film Commission and the Salt Lake Film Society, to name a few.

Student Testimonials

"What I learned in the film studies program at Weber coupled with the people I met, both peers and instructors, could not have prepared me more for my future. Under the guidance of fantastic faculty I have been equipped with a sound knowledge of both theory and a physical practice of filmmaking. The networking possible through the program has also given me the ability to make films outside of school and meet the next enthusiastic generation of Utah’s film industry."

 – Zander Cooper, Class of Spring 2024

"I loved my time in the Weber Film Studies Program! As a growing major, there are so many opportunities to experiment, work with industry standard equipment, and network with fellow creatives. The most crucial way to improve as a filmmaker is to just go out and create, and that’s what I got to do many times every semester! The professors are also fantastic with how experienced and supportive they are. There are so many different ways to specialize in film, so if you have the slightest interest in visual media, I highly recommend checking this program out!"
