Whether you are choosing a major or considering career options, the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Major Exploration and Career Design program was designed for you! The program is built with busy student schedules in mind and provides help to students in choosing a major, creating an academic plan, and designing potential career paths.


How can I get help choosing a major?

Resources in this area are for students who have not yet declared a major at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ. As a student, you can take a free career assessment 

Heads up, Wildcats only! This program is just for 91¶ÌÊÓƵ students. If you are taking concurrent enrollment through 91¶ÌÊÓƵ, you will need to pay for the Strong Interest Inventory. 

Step 1: Take the Strong Interest Inventory (SII) Assessment

The Strong Interest Inventory (SII) is an assessment tool that helps identify your career interests and explore potential occupations and majors.

  2. Review your results by attending a one hour Major Exploration Workshop (see instructions to the right). Please ensure you complete the assessment at least one day before your scheduled workshop date.

Step 2: Attend a Major Exploration Workshop

You will receive the results to your Strong Interest Inventory Assessment during an in-person or virtual Major Exploration workshop. These workshops are appointment only and scheduled through Starfish using the link below.

  • Tuesdays, 2 - 3 PM in SC 141
  • Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-Noon in SC 233
  • Thursdays, 9-10 a.m. in SC 141

Step 3: Meet With an Exploratory Advisor

After you attend the workshop, if you need additional help please schedule a one-on-one appointment with an exploratory advisor

Unsure on who the academic advisor for your major is or how to schedule an appointment? Use the university's find my advisor tool tool. Simply click on the academic college your major belongs to and then select the program that corresponds to your major.

  • Want to explore career options with you major? Schedule and attend a 30-minute career design workshop! 
        1) Go to  and enter your Wildcat username and password
        2) Find a "Career Design Workshop" date/time that works for you and select it by clicking on it.
        3) Click on the "register" button

         * This workshop will also have information for those who are considering changing their major. 
         
  • Need help finding employment or navigating career challenges? Meet with the career counselor for your major.
     
  • Want help developing career skills (resume writing, interviewing, etc.) OR would you like a free professional headshot?  Drop into the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Career Station.

If you have academic questions but have not yet decided on a major, the Student Success Center can help. In addition to assisting students who are working on their Associate of General Studies degree, they can also help undecided students create a temporary academic plan while they are exploring options. 
Find My Advisor Academic Advisement Once you have decided on a major, the academic advisor for that major can help create an academic plan, choose classes, and manage academic challenges that may arise.
CatTracks Academic Advisement Use 91¶ÌÊÓƵ CatTracks to monitor your academic progress toward graduation. In addition, you can use the "What-if" feature to see how long it would take to graduate with different majors.
