1.0    PURPOSE

This policy establishes criteria for a faculty member to be considered for emeritus status.

2.0    DEFINITION

2.1    Retire - to be considered "retired" for purposes of this policy, the retiree must at the time of retirement have been at least 55 years of age, have served in a full-time capacity for 10 years or more, and have separated from full-time employment at the University.

3.0    POLICY
        
All faculty who are tenured, hold academic rank, and retire from the University are eligible for emeritus status at retirement upon recommendation to and approval of the President.
