As a 91¶ÌÊÓƵ employee, you play a significant role in contributing to the economic vitality of the state.

Weber State Downtown opened in 2013 and now serves as an epicenter for economic development, where startups, entrepreneurs, students and community members can rent space, work in a cooperative environment and access cutting-edge technology.   

91¶ÌÊÓƵ is also home to a Utah Science Technology and Research (USTAR) , which helps local entrepreneurs and businesses move new products to the marketplace. Working in partnership with leaders from the surrounding counties, 91¶ÌÊÓƵ established  to cultivate successful entrepreneurs and support the regional economy.

In 2010, 91¶ÌÊÓƵ convened the Aerospace Cluster Acceleration Partnership, advancing the governor’s initiative to grow and expand the aerospace and defense industry of Northern Utah. As part of that project, 91¶ÌÊÓƵ created the Utah Center for Aeronautical Innovation, now known as the Concept Center. The center provides solutions to technical problems in product development and design, process improvement, engineering analysis and manufacturing while collaborating with companies in a wide variety of industries, including aerospace, outdoor equipment, advanced materials and more.

91¶ÌÊÓƵ works closely with local business and industry to develop programs and degrees that meet the needs of current employers. In this role, the university not only helps employers grow but also attracts new companies to Utah.
