Anthropology Club Constitution
Preamble:
We, the members of the Anthropology Club, in keeping with the rules and regulations of 91短视频, and with the institution鈥檚 anthropology program, do establish this constitution.
Article I: Name
This organization shall be known as the 鈥淎nthropology Club鈥 of 91短视频.
Article II: Purpose
The purposes of this club are:
- To promote anthropological interests and awareness;
- To enhance educational opportunities of the department and provide further enrichment outside the classroom;
- To publicly recognize student excellence in anthropology;
- To foster ties between the university and community, as well as other anthropological organizations and departments.
Article III: Officers and Duties
Section 1: Officers
The President shall:
- Prepare the agenda and facilitate club meetings;
- Be responsible to the university and the club for all club-sponsored functions;
- In conjunction with the club treasurer and faculty advisor, be responsible for the club budget;
- Have the authority to delegate assignments and / or responsibility as needed;
- Vote on club issues where a tie occurs;
- Assist the other officers as needed.
The Vice-President shall:
- Assist the president and assume the president鈥檚 duties in case of absence;
- Act as the club鈥檚 program coordinator: to arrange speakers and activities;
- In conjunction with the historian, make and distribute advertising materials for club meetings and activities;
- Fulfill other duties assigned by the president.
The Treasurer shall:
- Be responsible for the club budget in conjunction with the club president and faculty advisor;
- Keep accurate records of club finances for public inspection upon request;
- Provide quarterly financial statements at club meetings;
- Act as the club鈥檚 fund-raising coordinator: to investigate and arrange fund-raising activities;
- Fulfill other duties assigned by the president.
The Historian shall:
- Act as the scribe for the club: record minutes of the meetings;
- In conjunction with the vice-president, make and distribute advertising materials for club meetings and activities;
- In conjunction with the treasurer, create and maintain an accurate listing of club members and contact information;
- Handle correspondence for the club, both between club members and with other clubs;
- Fulfill other duties assigned by the president.
The Liaison Officer shall:
- Represent the club to the association of Clubs and Organizations (C & O);
- Attend each required meeting of the C & O or make arrangements to have an appropriate substitute attend;
- Assist the club officers as needed;
- Fulfill other duties assigned by the president.
Section 2: Elections
The election of all club officers shall occur each spring, or as special circumstance requires. Voting rights shall be accorded to all active, dues-paying members. In case of vacancy of an office, at the next regularly scheduled meeting, the members of the club will decide who is to fill the vacancy with a majority vote of the active members present.
Section 3: Qualifications
The President shall:
- Have completed a minimum of three anthropology classes.
- Be enrolled in one of the anthropology programs, (as a major/minor in anthropology, or BIS emphasis, or Archaeological Technician program).
- Be at least a junior (preferred).
- Be a currently enrolled student, in good standing, at 91短视频.
The Vice-President shall:
- Have completed a minimum of three anthropology classes.
- Be enrolled in one of the anthropology programs, (as a major/minor in anthropology, or BIS emphasis, or Archaeological Technician program).

Section 4: Tenure
The term of any officer, for the same office, is one year (from July 1 to June 30). The officer may renew his or her office once, through reelection.
Article IV: Membership Rights and Voting Procedures
- The club shall remain open to all those who actively participate in club meetings, and those who are interested in anthropology.
- Active members are those who have paid dues and attend at least three (3) club meetings or activities per semester.
- A proposal or motion may come from any member in good standing with the club.
- All active members have voting rights.
- Outcomes on proposals and motions shall be determined by a simple majority vote of active club members in attendance.
Article V: Faculty Advisor
The faculty advisor(s) shall:
- Act as an academic resource to the club and may attend club meetings and help plan or suggest club activities;
- In conjunction with the club president and treasurer, be responsible for the club budget;
- Be responsible for conduction club officer nominations and elections;
- Have the right to make suggestions, proposals, and motions;
- Not have the right to vote on club issues.
Article VI: Finances
Section 1: Dues
The dues will be decided by the club members, with the approval of the officers and faculty advisor(s).
Section 2: Dispersal of Funds
The dispersal of funds shall be proposed by a committee composed of the club president, treasurer, and faculty advisor(s), with approval and final decision made by the members.
Article VII: Amendments
Proposals to amend this constitution shall originate by any member of the club. The proposal shall be presented to the active members and voted upon. A simple majority vote, by those present at an official club meeting, will be needed to pass the amendment.
