Sociology Club

91¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Sociology Club offers plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in sociology outside the classroom and gain practical experience in the field.

What We're About

Sociology Club is a student-run organization dedicated to the study and application of sociology, not only on campus, but also in the community and in preparation for higher learning and excellence in the career world. We advocate cultural awareness, social consciousness, genuine understanding and personal and professional growth. Creating an environment that fosters and encourages intellectual and professional growth, Sociology Club is an excellent stepping-stone toward your next horizon.

What We Do

We are sociologists (albeit in-the-making), and our activities are grounded in, and in the service of, sociology as a discipline. From conducting our own research and attending presentations to holding club socials, there’s typically something going on.

Note: Every semester, we plan new events for our members. The activities mentioned here are only a few of the opportunities you can explore.

Why Get Involved?

Sociology Club is a good time!

Our club is an excellent resource for you to get to know others who share your passion for sociology, share your ideas and gain useful insight and experience that can apply to your work in the classroom and in your career.

Meetings

We hold weekly meetings to discuss progress on current projects, on- and off-campus activities and future plans.

We’re a casual lot and welcome visitors. Drop by and get involved. You’re encouraged to become as involved as you’d like. We have members who participate in every activity and others who are only interested in a few events.

We typically meet Wednesdays in the Social Science Building, but double check with a club member or advisor to make sure.

Join the Club

Come to any of our events. There’s no commitment required; we just hope you’ll have a great time and come back.
