Community Garden

We're Moving! The New Community Garden is now located behind the Employee Wellness Annex on the northern outskirts of campus starting the summer of the 2024 season. There is limited space for parking at the Annex, but the W4 & W5 lots are FREE during the summertime, and the Dee Events Center Parking is free year-round. If you are interested in volunteering, please see here for more parking info before your visit.

The Weber State Community Garden is a student-managed and operated garden that is focused on providing fresh fruit and vegetables. The food grown in the garden is donated to the Weber Cares Pantry and within the local community. The garden offers education on home gardening, composting, and advice for plant care. Volunteers gain practical experience working in a horticultural setting and the first pick of produce.

Volunteering/Working in the Garden & Support

Volunteering days are case by case throughout the growing season. If you would like to volunteer, collect service hours, or if you are a educator on campus and would like to inquire a tour or pursue research studies at the garden, please contact the garden coordinator by emailing gardenclub@weber.edu or signing up for weekly meetups via .

The growing season is broken up into three parts:

  • February - May: Early-Season
    • Planning, seed starting, and planting
  • June - August: Mid-Season
    • Maintenance and harvesting
  • September - November: Late-Season
    • Harvesting and clean up

A Guide to a Sustainable Garden & Kitchen is finally here!  After months of effort, this guide is ready for you!  Hopefully this guide can act as a way to help education you on current issues we face in the world regarding food sustainability, as well as provide options and actions that you can do in your own home to become more sustainable!  These actions include different practices in the garden, as well as practices you can take into your own kitchen to help grow your own food and reduce food waste.  Please check it out, and pass it on.  Thank you!

All funds go towards the budget and improvement of the garden.  We appreciate any and all donations, you can also contact the garden coordinator below to donate any extra equipment or plants.
