1. The nominee is recognized by students, colleagues, supervisors and faculty as an outstanding staff member.
2. The nominee possesses the following qualities of superior job performance:
   • Productivity and quality of work as measured against the type of work performed.
   • Dependability and reliability in the performance of job responsibilities.
   • Creativity, innovation and other attributes that distinguish the individual to the benefit of the university.
   • Ability to relate to others in a manner that enhances the person's ability to perform in their assigned duties and reflects well upon the university.
   • Other contributions that help faculty, staff and administrators to accomplish their goals or that aid students, including campus, community and volunteer service.

An individual may be nominated by staff, faculty, administrators or students. Individuals who have been previously nominated may be nominated again.

To nominate someone, please submit the following:

• A completed expressing the reasons for the nomination based on the criteria.
• Three additional references who can support the nomination by completing a recommendation form using the provided link. Each recommender will need to indicate on the form that they are submitting a recommendation for the nominee. References may submit recommendations for more than one Presidential Outstanding Staff Award nominee.

For a nomination to be complete and valid, it must include a nomination form and exactly three recommendations. If more than three recommendations are submitted, only the first three received will be considered.

It is the nominator's responsibility to assure all necessary information is submitted by the nomination close date.

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to be considered for the award:

• Only non-exempt or exempt staff may be considered for this award.
• Must have worked at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ for at least five years prior to the year of nomination.
• Years of employment do not need to be consecutive, but can combined to total of five years. 
• Anyone who receives an award will be ineligible for consideration for the five subsequent years following the honor.
• Members of the selection committee and their close relatives are not eligible for the award during committee members’ service period.

After the nomination period ends, the selection committee will review all nominations and submit their recommendations to the university president. The president will then select the winners and present them with the award, at which time all other nominees will be notified of the results.
