Apply for Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Radiography

Selection Process

A committee comprised of faculty, advisors, and representatives of 91¶ÌÊÓƵ-affiliated healthcare facilities determines who is accepted to our AAS Radiography program.

Selection is based on a point system. Students who earn the most points will be accepted. You receive points based on multiple factors including:

  • at least 2.0 college grade point average
    • average cumulative GPA of accepted students is 3.5
    • anatomy & physiology grades are worth double points
  • degrees
  • health-related certifications
  • healthcare employment and/or patient care experience
  • an interview
  • proximity to clinical placement (based on the physical address entered on the application)

Most students will spend at least 3 days a week at their clinical site with an average of 24 hours a week of clinical education.

The number of students accepted is determined by the number of students our affiliated healthcare facilities are able to accommodate for clinical hours. Students' geographic location will be taken into consideration during the selection process and placement. If you are not initially accepted, you may be accepted as an Alternate (you may be chosen if an accepted student decides not to enter the program) or selected for our Spring Cohort, which starts the Spring semester following Fall placement.

You may apply to more than one program location. If you are accepted into more than one program location, you may select the program location you wish to pursue.

The selection of students adheres to all state and federal laws and university policies concerning discrimination and fairness in the selection process. 91¶ÌÊÓƵ strives to include a variety of perspectives, as it enriches the learning environment for all students.

Please Note:

All correspondence from the Radiologic Sciences Department will be sent to your Weber student email address, including interview dates. Be sure you know how to access your Weber student email account.

Once an applicant has been accepted to the program, they will be required to successfully complete a background check and drug screening process at their own expense prior to the program start date.
