UAAC Committees
Any advisor interested in joining a UAAC Committee may do so by informing the committee chair/co-chairs and the UAAC co-chairs of their interest. The committee chair/co-chairs will then let the interested party know of meeting times and assign duties to members.

Outstanding New Professional Academic Advisor Outstanding Professional Academic Advisor Award Sherrie Jensen Service to Academic Advising Award The Outstanding New Professional Academic Advisor Award recognizes individuals whose primary role at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ is the direct delivery of advising services to students at the undergraduate or graduate level. Nominees must spend at least 50% of their time on direct delivery of advising to students and have at least three or fewer years of experience in direct delivery of advising to students. The Outstanding Professional Academic Advisor Award recognizes individuals whose primary role at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ is the direct delivery of advising services to students at the undergraduate or graduate level. Nominees must spend at least 50% of their time on direct delivery of advising to students and have at least three years (calendar years) of experience in direct delivery of advising to students. The Sherrie Jensen Service to Academic Advising Award recognizes significant contributions to the profession of academic advising through leadership in the field of advising and a commitment to the importance of academic advising at the institutional, state, regional, national or global levels. Nominees demonstrate substantial involvement with committees or professional organizations dedicated to the professional development of academic advisors and the advancement of the profession of Academic Advising - Assessment
Assessment
The assessment committe is curently working on the formulation and completion of Student Learning Outcomes (SLO’s) for academic advising first-year students at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ. Through this process, students and academic advisors will have a clear understanding of what students have learned as a result of the academic advising interaction.

- Marketing
Marketing Committee
The UAAC Marketing Committee is responsible for promoting advising services to students and faculty/staff at Weber State. The committee is currently working on communications for incoming students, with plans to expand to continuing students. The committee also plans to develop communications for faculty and staff regarding advising responsibilities and resources.

- Student Retention Initiatives
Student Retention Initiatives Committee
The Student Retention Initiatives Committee is responsible for the management and implementation of multiple retention initiatives across campus including managing tracking items through Starfish, Bounce Back, semester to semester conversion, early stop-out outreach, along with other retention, persistence, and graduation initiatives. The advising representatives for each college have been designated to serve in an advisory role as we expand and implement retention initiatives campus wide.

Social
The UAAC Social Committee is responsible for planning and promoting social events for all UAAC members in an effort to bring together like minded advisors. The Social Committee's goal is to enhance relationship building, employee engagement, and collaboration. The Social Committee also aids in creating a community spirit of pride, fun and other aspects of teamwork among campus advisors.

Training & Professional Development
The Training & Professional Development Committee coordinates events for advisors to increase their knowledge and understanding of university functions, policies, and services as well as to grow in the profession of advising. The committee sponsors the Advisor Information Series held in the fall and spring semesters and promotes other training and development opportunities throughout the year.
