Curriculum & Instruction
Gain more in-depth knowledge and skill to take your classroom instruction to a new level.
What You’ll Learn
The Master of Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction is designed for candidates seeking more in-depth knowledge and skill for classroom instruction. In addition to foundation courses, students may select from a variety of electives, including courses leading to license endorsements. Candidates will complete a classroom or school-based project as a culminating experience.
What You Can Do
A master’s degree typically adds $3,000–$5,000 annually to a teacher’s base salary. An emphasis in curriculum and instruction supports classroom instruction, and also advances knowledge for instructional coaches or other teacher leaders who facilitate ongoing, day-to-day professional development for the teachers at the assigned school or schools. Other areas supported by this emphasis are college instructors, both adjunct and those in fields that require a master’s degree such as dental hygiene and interior design.
