The Department of Respiratory Therapy
 

Welcome! Our University houses the country's largest baccalaureate school for Respiratory Therapy, while other programs only offer an associate degree. An increasing number of employers are looking for candidates with a bachelor's degree and we are here to meet that need for you!

For your convenience, we offer our Respiratory Therapy associate and bachelor's degree programs in three locations: 91¶ÌÊÓƵ's main campus in Ogden, UT,  Davis campus in Layton, UT and Farmington Station, Farmington, UT.

    Our program is accredited by The . "The mission of the CoARC is to ensure that high quality educational programs prepare graduates to be competent respiratory therapists with proficiency in practice, education, research and service."

    Programmatic outcomes are performance indicators that reflect the extent to which the goals of the program are achieved and the program effectiveness. The outcomes reported on the CoARC website are within a 3-year time period and include: CRT credentialing success; RRT credentialing success; achievement of the high cut score on the TMC Exam (beginning 2018); retention (attrition); job placement; overall graduate satisfaction; overall employer satisfaction; on-time graduation rate; total number of program enrollees; total number of program graduates; and maximum annual enrollment.

ACCREDITATION STANDARDS
for entry into respiratory care professional practice


To prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs).
 
To prepare leaders for the field of respiratory care by including curricular content with objectives related to the acquisition of skills in one or more of the following: management, education, research and advanced clinical practice (which may include an area of clinical specialization).
