Sapporo gives students the opportunity to take the Japanese skills they learn in class and apply them in real life, since locals speak the most standardized form of the language. Students will learn Japanese language and customs in Sapporo before traveling to Kyoto, the cultural capital of Japan, to experience its history and geography. As they increase their language and cultural proficiency on this trip, students will comfortably practice their skills at shops, train stations and tourist destinations. Students will have the chance to visit shrines, temples, historic shopping streets and historic downtown areas, as well as try on Japanese summer kimonos and eat authentic food.
