Netherlands

Program Details

The Netherlands has an over-500 year history of international trade and business. As a small nation with little to no natural resources, the Dutch pursued international trade and business early on. The Netherlands is unique in the world in that its economy has been shaped by its geography over several centuries. Amsterdam has been the hub of this international trade and business for nearly the entire time the Netherlands has been in existence as a nation. As such, there is ample access to the country's rich history in and around Amsterdam. Students will be able to stay the whole trip in Amsterdam, maximizing their exposure to the city, its history, and its businesses.

Selection Criteria:

Participants must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Be a high school graduate or above.
  • Read, speak, and understand English.
  • Provide documentation of sufficiently good enough health to travel and participate in a two-week study program.

Cost

$4,000.00 (Some Airfare Included)

Suggested Payment Schedule:

  • Deposit: $500
  • Feb. 23, 2018: $850
  • March 30, 2018: $850
  • April 27, 2018: $850
  • May 25, 2018: $850
  • June 15, 2018: $100

Must be paid in full by June 22, 2018

Deposit: $500 dollars will need to be paid when you hand in your application.

All payments must be made through the Hurst Center, NOT at the main cashier's office. Payment can be made in person, or over the phone at (801) 626-6600. The Hurst Center is located on the south side of campus next to the Alumni Center.

Includes: room and board, domestic transportation, and most meals.

Not included: airfare, passport, incidentals, excess baggage costs, any unscheduled travel, and some meals.

Itinerary

Please attend all departure meetings!

June 23: Departure
June 24-30: Visit businesses in greater Amsterdam area as well as many historical and cultural sites related to Amsterdam's history of trade and business.
July 1: Return

Academic Courses

Students who participate in this study abroad program will be able to register for up to three (3) semester credits through 91¶ÌÊÓƵ in BSAD 4850.

Trip Cancellations

If the trip is canceled, all participants will be refunded. Any refunds for withdrawals from the program will be determined by the Study Abroad Director according to the recoverability of incurred costs and fees and according to the Continuing Education Policy. Once the group leaves all costs are non-refundable in their entirety. Dates & process may change. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of any such changes by staying in contact with the program director.
