Germany – Bremen Summer School

Program Details

This program is run as an exchange program with the Hochschule Bremen, Germany. Students will understand the research process in business or economics and will complete an independent, applied research project focusing on as issue in business or economics. Students projects will have some regional components. Students may do a case study of a local company, answer a research question that is regional in nature, or answer a research question where the population being analyzed is from the EU and/or Germany.

Cost

Cost: Weber State tuition

Pay deposit and all payments to the Hurst Center for Lifelong Learning in person or pay over the phone with a credit card at (801) 626-6600. Please, do not pay on campus, all payments need to be made at the Hurst Center.

  • Principles of Macroeconomics, ECON 2020 (3)
  • or ECON 4850 Study Abroad (3)

Prerequisites:

  • For ECON 2020: the pre-req are ECON 2010 and MATH 1050
  • For ECON 4850: the pre-req are ECON 2899 or BSAD 2899

Program Directors

Doris Geide-Stevenson has led multiple study abroad trips and is a German native. Personnel at the Hochschule will help organize housing, as well as orientation sessions, social events, and field trips.

Trip Cancellations

If the trip is canceled, all participants will be refunded. Any refunds for withdrawals from the program will be determined by the Study Abroad Director according to the recoverability of incurred costs and fees and according to the Continuing Education Policy. Once the group leaves all costs are non-refundable in their entirety. Dates & process may change. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of any such changes by staying in contact with the program director.
