The program will consist of daily group studio work sessions, visits to art-historical sites throughout the city and beyond, including a day-trip to Padua: where students will see the work of Giotto and his frescoes in the Arena Chapel. Extensive time will be spent at the Venice Biennale, one of the premiere exhibitions of contemporary art from around the world. As host city for the Biennale, Venice is a unique resource for students of art, providing access to historical art of the highest importance. The opportunity to study art and art-history in an immersive program with creating a portfolio of work, and in a dynamic city of historic and contemporary import to enhance and sharpen the educational experience.
Requirements:
- Student participants can be of any age group (18+), as long as they are willing and able to meet the moderate physical demands of traversing extensively as part of the program. Students must also be willing to share apartment accommodations with several other students.
