Costa Rica and Panama

Program Details

Costa Rica and Panama meet all the criteria of an emerging market economy. Both countries' GDPs exceed that of their peers in the developing world, yet fall short of the threshold required for classification as developed countries. Students will experience new cultures and better understanding of the difficult circumstances that come with doing business outside the US.

Selection Criteria:

Participants must:

  • Have completed BSAD 2899
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Be a high school graduate or above.
  • Read, speak, and understand English.

Cost

$3,500.00 (Airfare Included)

Suggested Payment Schedule:

  • Deposit: $500
  • Nov. 3, 2017: $700
  • Dec. 8, 2017: $700
  • Jan 5, 2018: $700
  • Feb 2, 2018: $700
  • Feb. 16, 2018: $200

Must be paid in full by March 2, 2018

Deposit: $500 dollars will need to be paid when you hand in your application.

All payments must be made through the Hurst Center, NOT at the main cashier's office. Payment can be made in person, or over the phone at (801) 626-6600. The Hurst Center is located on the south side of campus next to the Alumni Center.

Includes: room and board, domestic transportation, and some meals.

Not included: passport, incidentals, excess baggage costs, any unscheduled travel, and all meals.

March 6: Panama Business site tours
March 7: Travel to San Jose Costa Rica/Site Tour
March 9: Rain Forest Adventures/Costa Rica
March 10: Return

Academic Courses

Students who participate in this study abroad program will be able to register for up to three (3) semester credits through 91¶ÌÊÓƵ in BSAD 4850 or SCM 4850

Trip Cancellations

If the trip is canceled, all participants will be refunded. Any refunds for withdrawals from the program will be determined by the Study Abroad Director according to the recoverability of incurred costs and fees and according to the Continuing Education Policy. Once the group leaves all costs are non-refundable in their entirety. Dates & process may change. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of any such changes by staying in contact with the program director.
