The trip focuses on the ethnohistory and colonial history of the Northeast and Canada in the early colonial period from first Native American-European contact through the American Revolution, highlighting the multicultural aspects of the New York frontier in the interplay between Iroquoian cultures with French, Dutch, English and American societies in the context of trade, conflict, and imperial rivalries.
Selection Criteria:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Be a high school graduate or above.
- Read, speak, and understand English.
- Provide documentation of sufficiently good enough health to travel and participate in a two-week study program.
- Students who have not completed any course credits in anthropology prior to the trip must enroll in the lower division course ANTH 2950.
