Program Details

Students will be able to identify culturally appropriate health care practice interactions for patients whose belief systems and values originate in the traditions of China. The student will be able to discuss, as appropriate to their knowledge base, cultural experiences in China that include history, people, community, political aspects, economics, education, geography, culture, including art, music, and literature. China is a genuine cultural experience to observe and learn detailed history by visiting historical sites and first-person observation of eastern and western health care practices, as well as China's overall impact on the population health concerns.

Selection Criteria:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Be a high school graduate or above.
  • Read, speak, and understand English.

May 3, 2019 – May 17, 2019

Cost

$3,500

Deposit: $500 dollars will need to be paid when you hand in your application.

All payments must be made through the Hurst Center, NOT at the main cashier's office. Payment can be made in person, or over the phone at (801) 626-6600. The Hurst Center is located on the south side of campus next to the Alumni Center.

Includes: international airfare, room and board, excursions, and all domestic transportation.
Not included: passport, incidentals, excess baggage costs, and any unscheduled travel.

Academic Courses

Students who participate in this study abroad program will be able to register for up to four (4) semester credits through 91¶ÌÊÓƵ.

Trip Cancellations

If a program is canceled all participants will be refunded 100% of fees paid (91¶ÌÊÓƵ cannot reimburse personal funds spent outside beyond the program fee). Withdrawal from the program may result in penalty fees, to be determined by the Study Abroad Director according to the refund policy described in the application. All costs are non-refundable in their entirety 30 days prior to departure, without exception. Dates and prices may change. It is the student's responsibility to be aware of any such changes by staying in contact with the program director.
