Student Teaching Request for Placement
Please verify you are in the Teacher Education Student Portal by doing the following:
- Go to weber.edu and click your portrait (circle) in the top right of the screen
- Log into your Weber account and the two factor DUO authentication
- You will be redirected to eWeber
- In the “Search for Portal Apps….” area, type Teacher Education Student Portal
- Results will show a box called Teacher Education Student Portal
- Most students will already have an application in the system, as this is the same application you used to apply to Teacher Education. If you already have an application in the system, you will see your program listed as a purple underlined link.
- If you have an application, but the program is incorrect, contact Patty Coan (pcoan@weber.edu) before continuing.
- If you do not have an application, create one by pushing the Start Another Application button and begin your application. (NOTE: do this action ONLY if you do not see an active program listing under the “Your Applications” area or you will duplicate your account)
- Complete the requested student teaching items below and save them as electronic files on your computer. Links to forms and other information are highlighted in purple. PDF tools (such as Adobe Sign) are acceptable for online signatures.
Checklist
All Elementary, Secondary, Special Education, and PBCT Program teacher candidates please complete the following documents and then submit them as a file upload from your computer to the Teacher Education Student Portal application under the File Manager tab.
1. Provide verification of a current USBE background clearance
Note: 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Teacher Education programs require a USBE clearance. If you do not have a USBE background clearance, apply using this link > USBE Background Clearance
You can either add your Cactus ID number in the "Application" section (click the + on the right next to Application), or you can attach a document with your Cactus ID number listed. A screenshot from your USIMS/Cactus account is preferred, but it must show your Cactus ID number. All background checks will be verified with USBE before you may student teach.
2. Autobiography - You may either type an autobiography into the "Application" section (click the + on the right next to Application), or you can upload a document no more than one page relating personal experiences in the education program, why you chose to be a teacher and your goals.
3. - (This is for PBCT Program students ONLY)
Provide a signed copy from the PBCT Director, Dr. Sheryl Rushton, sherylrushton@weber.edu. Upload the form to the "File Manager" section of your application
4. - (This is for undergraduate Secondary Education students ONLY)
Provide a signed copy from your major/minor advisor(s). Upload the form to the "File Manager" section of your application
5. ESL Form – ESL students ONLY
Provide a signed copy by Dr. David Byrd, davidbyrd@weber.edu. Upload the form to the "File Manager" section of your application
6. Send an email to Patty Coan (pcoan@weber.edu) to confirm your application is complete.
7. Read the Student Teaching Guidebook – All teacher candidates should read and be familiar with requirements and policies in the guidebook
