Dr. Kristin Millard

As Director of Learning Support, Dr. Kristin Millard is dedicated to fostering avenues to success for all students. Kristin began her professional career as a junior high English and history teacher. After taking some time off to stay at home with her young children, she spent eight years teaching English for BYU-Idaho. As an instructor, she had an up-close view of the obstacles students face, which sparked her passion for helping students succeed. Kristin chose to pursue a doctorate in education because she believes we have a responsibility to lead and shape education for tomorrow. Kristin’s research focus includes the Community of Inquiry, persistence, and student success. Kristin adjuncts in the Graduate Studies in Education program.

Kristin earned an EdD in Higher Education Leadership from Maryville University, a Master of Arts in English from 91¶ÌÊÓƵ, and a Bachelor of Arts in English teaching, also from Weber State. Kristin’s hobbies include reading, running, hiking, and spending time with her family.

Mackenzie Glover

Mackenzie Glover is the Learning Assistant & Supplemental Instruction Coordinator and the Academic Peer Coaching supervisor. Mackenzie completed her undergraduate degree in Social Work in 2019 and then completed her M.Ed. in Leadership in High Education in 2022, both of which she obtained at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ. Having been a student employee herself, Mackenzie enjoys now being able to mentor her own student employees and aims to provide them with as many opportunities to learn and grow as possible. Hobbies include reading, knitting, traveling, and being a couch potato with her dog.

Claire Hughes

Claire has served in the writing center community for over 25 years, beginning from her days as an undergraduate tutor. While coordinating the Weber State Writing Center since November 2004, she has chaired regional and international writing center conferences, and led her department's NADE re-accreditation team. Claire served as Rocky Mountain Writing Centers Association VP and then President for six years, initiating outreach to include secondary writing centers, and bringing the first-ever funds to the region for conference seed money and scholarships. Her passion lies in supporting students with leadership opportunities and with effective idea expression through word, image, and sound.

Sarah Taylor

As the Learning Specialist, Sarah Taylor assists the Learning Assistant and Supplemental Instruction Coordinator in hiring, training, supporting, and mentoring SI Leaders, Learning Assistants, and Academic Peer Coaches as they develop the skills they need to succeed. As a 91¶ÌÊÓƵ student, she worked on campus as a writing tutor, history tutor, learning assistant, and English adjunct instructor. She chose to continue her graduate studies here at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ because she aspired to join this student-centered community that fosters students’ growth.

As a former student employee herself, she aims to provide our current student employees with the tools and opportunities to grow in both their current roles and future careers. Sarah earned a Master of Arts in English in 2022 and a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2020 from 91¶ÌÊÓƵ. She is currently pursuing a Certificate of Proficiency in Spanish. Sarah’s hobbies include reading, writing, hiking, and gardening.

Linda Wilson-Hill

As Davis Tutoring & Writing Center’s Coordinator, Linda Wilson-Hill hopes all students who come for help feel welcomed and supported. Linda began her professional career as a middle and high school English teacher. After 12 years in K-12 instruction, she transitioned to higher education, where she spent the next 18 years teaching English and composition at Green River College, the College of Western Idaho, and BYU-Idaho.

Linda earned a Master's in Education from Lesley University and a Bachelor of Arts in English teaching from Brigham Young University. She enjoys watercolor painting, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her family and her three rambunctious dogs.
