Governor Olene S. Walker
Olene S. Walker, Utah’s 15th and first female governor, created the Olene S. Walker Institute of Politics & Public Service to help foster in 91¶ÌÊÓƵ students and the broader community the public service and political engagement that motivated her decades-long career in Utah politics. From humble beginnings as a Weber County farm girl to her history-making term in Utah’s highest office, Walker relied on common sense and determination to get things done as she built her legacy as a trailblazer for women in politics and a role model for all Utahns.
