Community Engaged Learning Training Modules
The purpose of completing the Community Engaged Learning (CEL) Training Modules is to help those interested in engaging with the community how to do so in ways that are mindful of best practices, safety, roles and responsibilities, and expectations before, during, and after every community engagement experience.
Step 1: Complete the Training Modules

Training Modules (Required and Optional)
- All CEL courses MUST complete the "Required" portion of the CEL Training Modules.
- CEL courses where students will be mentoring, tutoring, and/or working with minors MUST also complete the "Optional" portion of the CEL Training modules.
STEP 2: Add Impact on GivePulse for Verification
Once you complete the CEL Training Modules, click on the button below to log into GivePulse and submit your impact for the time it took to complete the CEL Modules Training (opens in a new window)
- By logging your impact, you will receive a certificate of completion to submit to your CEL professor to verify your completion of your training
- Total time for the CEL Training Module impact should be no more than one (1) hour
- Please remember to share your impact by selecting your course from the drop-down within the impact if the training is required by your professor.
Step 3: Finding Your Certificate of Completion
Your record of completion can be found under Impacts in the section of your GivePulse portal. Once the impact is added by you AND verified by CCEL (please allow one business day for this verification to take place), you will be able to download a certificate of completion from the drop-down menu next to the impact.
STEP 4: Visit us at CCEL
When you have successfully completed the training modules, visit the Center for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) at the Ogden Campus in the Shepherd Union room 324 for your FREE community engagement shirt to wear in the community when you are completing your CEL requirements.
STEP 5: Contact Your Community Engagement Site
As a representative of Weber State, it is important to contact the site you wish to complete your community engagement hours. Review the for the latest contact information of the site you wish to complete your CEL opportunity. Contact CCEL if you need any additional assistance.
