An Incredible Choice, Chemistry or Biochemistry

Chemistry is everywhere! It was used to make the bottle for your water and the gasoline for your car. Chemistry results in the decomposition of your waste and guides the function of the cells in your body!

As a chemistry student, you will study the composition, structure, and properties of substances, learn how they interact, see the transformations they undergo and discover how to put all of this information to good use. You will learn the composition of matter and how elements combine to form compounds. You will also use instrumentation to determine molecular properties to help you identify substances and to predict how reactions will produce new and useful compounds.

You will like Chemistry/Biochemistry if...

♦ You are curious about the composition and transformation of matter at the most basic level
♦ You want to participate in research opportunities that allow you to apply your knowledge of chemistry and biochemistry to real-world problems encountered in industry
♦ You want access to the latest in modern chemical instruments and computer applications
♦ You want to learn from great professors who enjoy teaching and have excellent communication skills

See yourself here...

Can you picture putting your curiosity and creativity to work so that you can help the world solve current problems and plan for a better future?

A chemistry or biochemistry degree can help you make that happen.

From food safety to pollution control, there are many careers that allow you to use what you will learn in chemistry to make a difference in this world.
