2025 Award-Winning Visiting Author

Bret Anthony Johnston

Bret Anthony JohnstonBret Anthony Johnston is the author of the critically acclaimed and national bestselling novel We Burn Daylight, internationally bestselling novel Remember Me Like This, award-winning Corpus Christi: Stories and the editor of Naming the World: And Other Exercises for the Creative Writer. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, Esquire, The Paris Review, Thrasher Magazine, The Best American Short Stories and elsewhere. Johnston is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship and the Sunday Times Short Story Award. He was born and raised in Texas and is the director of the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas at Austin.

Submission

Registration

October 15, 2025 - February 15, 2026

We will contact you via email if your work is accepted for presentation.
At that point, you will be invited to register for the conference.

February 15 - March 6, 2026 (Regular Registration, $150)
March 7 - March 20, 2026 (Late Registration, $175)

Registration opportunities may be limited after March 20, 2026.
