Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science
Curriculum is grounded in five learning goals:
- Content knowledge and application
- Scientific inquiry and critical thinking
- Values in Psychological Science
- Communication, psychological literacy, and technology skills
- Personal and professional development
Students also build a strong liberal arts preparation for attaining a position in the professional workforce.
Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science Teaching
With the same five learning goals as the Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science, students will also build a strong foundation for attaining a position as a teacher in a secondary/high school.
Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies
A bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies allows you to choose three areas of study and combine them into one degree to ensure you’ve got all the skills you need to pursue the career of your dreams.
Choose three areas of emphasis, making one of them psychological science. You will need to schedule meetings with each emphasis area’s department. Download the BIS application and contract forms and bring them to your meetings with each department chair to discuss your required and elective courses. PSY 1010 will NOT count toward the 20 credits for the emphasis if you count it toward your General Education requirements.
Behavioral Health Technician Certificate of Proficiency
The 24-credit BHT certificate offers specialized training to students who seek knowledge and skills required to assist licensed mental health professionals as behavioral health technicians in treating and supporting patients. Curriculum is grounded in five learning outcomes:
- Introduction to mental health
- Professional resiliency and well-being
- Ethical, legal, and professional issues
- Applied therapeutic communication skills
- Case management and clinical documentation
The certificate is open to all students with no special admissions prerequisites or requirements, and can be completed in two semesters (12 credits per term).
Associate of Science in Psychological Science
With the same five learning goals as the bachelor's degree, the associate's degree prepares students for the work force (e.g., community and social service specialist, psychiatric technician), eases transfer to other institutions, and builds seamlessly with our bachelor's curriculum.
The associate's degree includes 12 credits of foundational courses and 3 credits of electives with opportunities for experiential learning.
Psychological Science Minor
This minor prepares students with skills like scientific inquiry and critical thinking. It is well-suited for students with varried academic and professional interests, including law school, health professions, medical school, business, education and human services.
A minor is required for graduation of all majors and teaching majors. Only double majors do not have to have a minor. Most minors are 18-24 credits.

Please go to the Change my Major app on the eWeber portal and make the request through the app. Once your information is processed, your program of study is updated in Cattracks, your official academic record.
Majors and teaching majors are required to have a minor (with the exception of double majors). To declare the minor, you must contact that department directly and seek advising regarding their requirements. Most minors are 18-24 credits.
